Information in the Museum Everyone will be familiar with the traditional forms of interpretation and communication materials that are to be found in today's museums:
Traditional communication materials such as these form part of an understanding of the role of the museum in society and culture as a repository of knowledge that needs to be communicated to the museums visitors and more widely to society at large. These materials describe the narratives and official interpretations sanctioned by the institution – but are themselves often subject to debate by others in the field. |
