A previous project that Rachel worked on whilst working at Hewlett-Packard Labs and Kings College London was Paper ++:


augmented paper with Bluetooth pen & kiosk

This 3 year research project funded by the European Commission explored possibilities of the affordances of paper rather than just the electronic screen. Whilst offering a certain amount of user choice in the kinds of materials used for interaction and interpretation, its vision was still constrained to an experience defined and mediated through the host institution.
