Amateurs, Scholars and Experts

The third use for public authoring in a museum would be as a debating platform for Amateurs, Scholars, Experts and Students that could provide a place for really in depth interpretations. Anyone could take part in the debates alongside professionals – again using a standard pervasive mobile communications device. Benefits would be:

  • A platform where people can ask questions and express opinions whatever they may be.
  • A platform where anyone’s voice could be heard.
  • A platform where people have a certain amount of distance/anonymity to help gain confidence when debating a subject area.
  • Methods for continuing discussion after events have finished.
