Creative Interventions

Urban Tapestries and public authoring are, fundamentally, about personal creativity.

A simple scenario could include artists, designers, musicians and writers creating their own work independent of, but perhaps in reference to, the institution's collections and site, that can be accessed by other visitors their own via pervasive devices.

Whilst this would clearly present serious challenges to and for museums on many levels – not least the integrity of curatorial intention or implications for whether such works might be deemed to be part of a museum's collection due to their geographic specificity – it may create a whole new function and role for museums as 'hosts' of new work.
