Wireless Networking, Social Knowledge & Public Authoring
Proboscis organised a 2 day Peer2Peer Creative Lab with MEDIA@LSE to explore the themes of social knowledge and public authoring within the context of wireless networking.

Day 1 was a series of group brainstorms around the topics. The lab comprised around 20 participants.

Day 2 began with a demonstration of the Bodystorming Experience. A Forum in the afternoon presented the issues discussed and ideas developed to a wider audience of peers and collaborators.

Attendance: there is no fee to attend either day, but space will be limited and we will require confirmation of attendance. However, as places are limited, we will be operating a no-show fee of £25 + VAT if you book a place and do not turn up.

THEME  Wireless Networking, Social Knowledge & Public Authoring
This lab aims to explore how wireless networks are opening up new spaces for creatvity and social interaction, particularly though the public authoring of 'social knowledge'. It will seek to address:

• What consitutes social knowledge and for whom?
• How can we find meaningful ways to bridge the virtual and the physical?
• How can public authoring create a new or different sense of belonging to a community or communities?
• In what ways can wireless networks create new opportunities for embedding creativity into the fabric of the city, and promote access to the cultural wealth of local areas and communities?

AIMS This 2 day platform for creative innovation seeks to bring together artists, social scientists, technologists, policy makers, the public sector and business to stimulate cross-sector partnerships and collaborations which innovate the development of public authoring in the emerging wireless landscape.
